Our Story

One Woman's Mission to Restore Dignity

Sarah Auma Foundation was born out of love, pain, faith, and a deep desire to bring hope.

The inspiration behind the foundation is Sarah's sister, Naomi, who developed an autoimmune condition that led to multiple strokes, leaving her partially paralyzed. For over 10 years, Sarah and her family walked closely with Naomi — supporting her through therapy, emotional struggles, and the realities of living with a long-term disability.

Through this journey, they encountered many challenges:

  • The high cost of physiotherapy
  • Limited access to rehabilitation services
  • Emotional strain on families and caregivers
  • Social isolation and stigma
  • The heavy burden of poverty

But they also discovered something powerful: they were not alone. Across their community, many families were silently struggling with similar challenges — children with cerebral palsy, stroke survivors, people with amputations, epilepsy, and mental health conditions — most without access to care or support.

Moved by faith and inspired by the biblical story of Naomi and Ruth — where love, loyalty, and restoration brought hope — Sarah received a vision to act.

That vision became Sarah Auma Foundation.
